Little Child

Little Child

Little child whose life so brief
Brought so much joy and so much grief
It hurt too much to let you go
Before your light had time to glow.

Darling child, sweet memory
A part of him, and more of me
I wanted you to laugh and run
To taste the snow and feel the sun.

Precious child, full of grace
Asleep forever in God's embrace
I sing to you a lullaby
And pray you hear it up on high

Angelic child, on clouds above
I send to you undying love
Now comes the time to say goodbye
So spread your wings, my love and fly.
